Founded in 2004, Irratik has become one of Canada’s leading Hip Hop Dance crews recognized internationally. Irratik is a fusion of young women between the ages of 18 to 25, with strong characters, unique personalities and diverse qualities that has measured up to some of the top dance crews worldwide. Their goal is to always bring innovative choreography to the stage that impresses and inspires spectators as well as peers in the dance community. The reputation of this group has grown to phenomenal heights, and keeps growing as they continue making a name for themselves on an international scale. They are one of 10 crews in America’s Best Dance Crew Season 7. Directed and choregraphed by members of the group, as well as Steve Bolton, TL Truong, Lorena Liebman of Blueprint Cru, and Monsta Pop, Irratik has had the opportunity to perform at many prestigious events within Canada as well as the United States. One of their greatest accomplishments is winning the title of the Canadian Hip Hop Dance Champions 4 times at Hip Hop Dance Canada’s event in 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2011. Moreover, Irratik has received 2 Silver medals in the Varsity division of Hip Hop International’s World Hip Hop Dance Championships held in Las Vegas, where they tied for Gold in 2009. The success of the group does not stop there. Irratik has opened for well known Canadian artists, been featured on Canada’s top French music stations Musique Plus and Vrak TV, as well as travelled to Chicago, New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles for performances and competitions.
One thing that sets this all-female group apart from the rest is the fact that they are not only strong as a whole, but as individuals as well. Each dancer brings a unique quality to this group. You can see Irratik dancers in every aspect of the performing arts, whether it be singing, acting, dancing or modelling. From making it all the way to the top 4 of So You Think You Can Dance Canada, to dancing backup for recording superstar Akon’s prodigy Saschali, as well as being featured in Canadian pop sensation Jacynthe’s last 2 music videos, these strong women have proven time and again that they are unstoppable forces in the dance industry.
Crews and dancers from all over the world are inspired by Irratik’s choreography, synchronicity, intricacy and performance abilities. Irratik is constantly raising the bar and setting the standards for dance worldwide. Crews from all over the world have emulated Irratik’s choreographies and have been inspired by the group. Crews from such countries as the Philippines, Mexico, Italy and Ireland have produced choreographies very similar to Irratik or highly influenced by them. With so much talent and drive, there is no telling where they will be in the near future, only that they will never give up and constantly strive for perfection.
